That temp actually isnt bad at all! A thermometer used for taking body tempt isnt exactly a good choice though, but I guess it gets the job done. My PC pumps out hot air that is a lot more hot then what the PS3 is doing. In my opinion, I wouldnt be concerned at all about the hot air the PS3 is pumping out. Also think of it this way, would you rather the hot air stay inside the PS3 or go out in your living room, warming the place up? :) Cheaper heating during the winter months!
Being that this isn't the best thermometer for this kind of true testing it does raise awareness b/c this is the air shooting out the back at this temp. Now imagine what the chips inside are reading.
